$2.06!!!!!!!
Yesterday I paid $2.06 for gas for the Tahoe!!! It made my day! Usually when I fill up the Tahoe it makes me cringe. Now we hardly ever drive it, but the days Dean has the car for work I have to drive it. It has been costing me about $75-80 to fill the tank. Yesterday I only needed to fill it halfway and it only cost me $22. That's about $40 for a whole tank!!! Amazing!! I was in a good mood for quite a while and it was just because of the cost of gas! Sometimes little things just make your day a whole lot better.
I'm very proud of our country today. I know that there a quite a few people (including my husband) who are upset with the outcome of the Presidential race. But to think that this is the first black president in our history, it's just amazing. We've come so far in this country that we were able to look beyond color and vote on issues that were important to us.
I've had quite a few discussions with Dean this political season. And I must say that he is getting better about expressing his views. He is very Republican and I'm Democrat, although sometimes he teases me that the Democrats are going to revoke my card. I'm more middle of the road between the two parties, but I lean more toward the Democrats. But I would just like to thank him for some of the thought provoking discussions that we had. This was the first year that it has been a challenge for me. I have always voted Democrat without a 2nd thought, and this year (although I did eventually vote for Obama) I spent a lot of time thinking and reading about both candidates. I even watched debates (which I have never done before). It did come down to the huge issues for me - Health care, Economy, the war, and Pro-choice. We also had been counseled as a church to pray about our votes, and I must admit that I did pray (again something I've never done before an election) and I just felt more comfortable with Obama than McCain. Which I know will be a shock to most of my fellow Mormons. I would like to thank everyone that I had conversations with about the issues that were concerning me (law of consecration compared to socialism, pro-choice and having the freedom to make our own choices and so on). Mom, Dean, Meredith, and Mandy - Thank you for listening to me and also giving me some great opinions of your own to think about!!!

I'm just super proud of you for being so determined to search it all out and choose what you believe is the best option. So how are you? I haven't seen you in like 10 years...
