I know it's a long shot and you'd have to do it today, but....

A drawing for an HP Touchsmart Computer!! Yeah it's got a lot of comments already and you have to enter today before 5pm pacific time, but I figure it's worth a shot! http://totallytogetherreviews.blogspot.com/2009/12/hp-touchsmart-computer-review-and-give.html

My Genetic Awesomeness Lives on!!!!

Image
In my entire life I have never met someone who has my awesome talent of having double-jointed thumbs. Until a few days ago when Riley discovered she has it too!!! Only one of her thumbs does it though...so she's half a freak like Dean still (although he says it's the other way around). Some of the cool things I can do are: 1. Place my hands on a flat surface and point my thumb straight up! This was a harder angle to get it straight up, since my arm was bent weird. 2. Bend my thumb all the way BACKWARDS to touch my arm. And Riley can do it too! Oh yes, my incredible DNA will live on....even if none of them have my cool longer 2nd toe.... (I'm still hoping for Scarlett on that one, but we can't tell yet, she curls her toes too much)

Christmas Break

Image
Ah, the joys of Christmas break! Why does it always seem that someone has to get sick right now? Can't I just have 2 weeks off with nothing to do??? Scarlett has been puking since Monday night. We took her into the doctor this morning and he thinks she just has the stomach flu. So pretty much we just keep doing what we were doing (little amounts of fluid at a time) only we use Pedialyte instead of formula. She doesn't get to have any formula until she keeps the Pedialyte down for 6 hours, and even then she only gets watered down formula. She has lost a pound since her check up a few weeks ago though, so that makes me a little worried. But her doctor said she looks good, she's not listless or running a temp. So as long as we can keep getting some fluids in her hopefully she'll get better and we'll avoid the ER on Christmas. So far she's only been able to keep anything down if she drinks it then takes a nap. But on her new 5ml of Pedialyte every 5 mins, she's ...

6th Month Appointment

Image
Well, my girl is growing and growing! She weighed in on Thursday at 17 lbs 5.4 oz (72%) and she is 26.5"long (68%). She is just getting so big!!! You have to fill out this survey thing before the appointment so they can gage whether your baby is doing everything they are supposed to be. As I already knew, she is right on with all of her vocal/hearing milestones. Her physical milestones are a little behind. When her doctor was charting everything he started to get a little concerned about some of the things she's not doing yet (rolling over, grabbing stuff with one hand), but then I said something about her being a preemie and he said "Oh I forgot she was early, she's just so big and healthy!" So she is right on development wise for being 6 weeks early. She's about 3-4 weeks behind a normal 6 month old (except for her vocal skills!) I had been receiving emails from one of the parenting websites every week that listed all of the things your 18 week-old, 19 week...

The Fireplace is Finished!

Image
Friday for School Spirit day the girls got to dress up like their favorite Holiday character. Alexandra decided she wanted to be Rudolph, so we went to the dollar store and bought her some antlers. Riley decided that since she wasn't able to wear her Ice Fairy costume at Halloween, that she'd wear it and be a ballerina from the Nutcracker. Dean and the girls finished our "fireplace" today and I think it looks awesome! Here they are warming their hands! Riley did the flames on the fireplace and Alexandra did the 3-D logs and flame. They both worked on their own versions and this is what they came up with. I was amazed when I saw what Alexandra had created without any help! I love that they did this together and it's so stinking cute! They are working on ornaments to hang around it too. I believe I've heard Alexandra say she wants to make a Pikachu one.

My Lucky Number is....

3!!! This kinda goes with my last post, as this is what I was laying there thinking of last night as I was waiting for my medicine to start working. And here are my reasons (the first two are really what made me think of the others): When I have a headache, it usually takes 3 advil to make it go away. To combat my post-partum depression I'm taking 3 prozac capsules every day. I have 3 girls. I was married in March (3!). The 3rd cat we got lived!! (the first two had serious medical problems and died or had to be put to sleep) My birthday is 9 (3x3=9)/14 (4-1=3) Okay maybe that last one is a bit of a stretch, but it's just the inner mathematician in me coming out. I like looking for patterns, especially number patterns. I've determined that Alexandra's lucky number is 4 - she was born on 4-1-04 @ 4:16. Yeah I'm a geek!

Things I Learned About My Migraines Yesterday

Ahhh, so apparently I can bring on a migraine with just a lot of stress and not eating very well. Who knew???? Friday was a horrible crazy day. It would have been just a crazy day anyway....but.... Thursday night Dean calls from work saying that they need Scarlett's social security number right away. Apparently they are going to be charged $1000 a day for every day they don't have it. (No idea, don't ask) Well after tearing the house apart at 9:00 pm trying to find her card and being very unsuccessful, I determine I'm going to have to go down to SS to get her a new card - cuz you know they ain't giving me the number over the phone. So here is how my Friday went. Got up at 5:45, got ready (didn't have time for breakfast - first bad decision of the day), got all the girls up at 6:30 and fed Scarlett and got them all ready for the day. Left at 7:25 to take the girls to school. Went to Wal-Mart to do grocery shopping (this had already been planned for my day...

What I wouldn't give for another week off from school. I was amazed at all I was able to accomplish Thanksgiving week, and I now know that it was not only my medicine working, it was also not having to drive to the school 3 times a day!!!! I just start to get stuff done, and look it's time to pick up Alexandra. We get home and have lunch, and between wishing I could get anything done and feeding/taking care of Scarlett - it's already time to go back and pick up Riley. Good thing Christmas break will be here soon! We did get the tree and decorations up. Dean and the girls haven't gotten the fireplace up, so I might take that over....although the girls really want to do it with Daddy....so maybe if they haven't done it by next week. Our poor LITTLE tree! I think this year I might scout the clearance sales after Christmas and get us a full size tree and the lights we'd need for it! Tuesday Scarlett turned 6 months old! I can't believe how time has flow...
