Christmas Break
Ah, the joys of Christmas break! Why does it always seem that someone has to get sick right now? Can't I just have 2 weeks off with nothing to do???
Scarlett has been puking since Monday night. We took her into the doctor this morning and he thinks she just has the stomach flu. So pretty much we just keep doing what we were doing (little amounts of fluid at a time) only we use Pedialyte instead of formula. She doesn't get to have any formula until she keeps the Pedialyte down for 6 hours, and even then she only gets watered down formula. She has lost a pound since her check up a few weeks ago though, so that makes me a little worried. But her doctor said she looks good, she's not listless or running a temp. So as long as we can keep getting some fluids in her hopefully she'll get better and we'll avoid the ER on Christmas. So far she's only been able to keep anything down if she drinks it then takes a nap. But on her new 5ml of Pedialyte every 5 mins, she's been doing good for almost an hour....although she's napping right now and has been for 20 mins...so I don't know if that really counts.
I have also been sick since Sunday night. Some sort of laryngitis thing, but I'm feeling better today thank goodness!
Quick update since we've been super busy lately.
Riley had another class presentation this month. It was a "Book Talk" or in other words a book report where they had to do some sort of project with it. Riley read a book called "Sheep". It's a book about a border collie who loses his home and is trying to find a new one. So for her project she conned Grammy into bringing Maro into her class so they could see a real border collie. She got a 4 (which is the highest grade she could get)! Riley also had a choir concert, which was very cute, but my pictures didn't turn out at all.....
Both girls went caroling on a combined girl scout troop field trip. We managed to find a nursing home that would let us come. Most of them didn't want any kids there because of the H1N1 thing. It was awesome. We had the Kindergarten, 2nd grade, and 3rd grade troops there. They had the girls sing in 3 different dining areas. The place was huge! They did a great job and had a great time.
We had their class parties on Friday. It was a crazy day and I was so glad when it was over!! Both girls had a blast, but were VERY excited for Christmas break.
Saturday we had our ward Christmas party and the girls got to see "Santa". It's kind of hilarious to watch the girls with this, since we have never done "Santa Claus". In fact Alexandra told me this morning "You and Daddy are my Santa Claus aren't you?"
And no post would be complete without some weird picture from Alexandra!
Oh, you poor people! I'd be a mess if Quin ever got sick like that. I'm praying for you both! (And the lot of ya, so's you all don't get it!) :)
