New Milestones
So last night Scarlett figured out how to pull herself up to standing. It was hilarious. She did it during family prayer and we found out as she pulled everything off the couch. She was so proud of herself. And she has continued to figure out what all she can use to stand up.
This week she has also finally figured out how to roll from her back to her belly. (It's like she's all of the sudden catching up!) And it has made trying to change her diaper quite the event. It was hilarious, she was like a little turtle. If you laid her on her back she was stuck there and couldn't go anywhere. The girls loved it once she started crawling and getting into stuff - they would just lay her down. (Which is probably why she finally learned how to roll over...)
I have to say, I was kinda worried about how far she was behind in some of the development stuff....but now I think of all the things we haven't had to do (lowering the crib, lots of baby proofing) and it was kind of a blessing.
Although now Dean and I are going to go upstairs and fix her crib. We haven't had to lower it at all since she was born. And now we're going to have to lower it almost all the way......

I have to sometimes remind myself that every baby developes when they're ready. Quin's just now pulling himself to standing and he's almost 14 months. Both of my other two were walking by now. And he doesn't say much, just a couple words whereas my other two were talking a lot by now. But he does sign language and figures little fine motor skills-type things out that I thought a baby never would.
ReplyDeleteAnd Scarlett's face is so expressive! She may not be able to say the words, but her face tells the story. And sorry to say, but stairs are next!
