Bridging Ceremony

I love Girl Scouts. Especially the cookies!

I didn't know/have any idea how to get Riley into Girl Scouts until 2nd grade. With Alexandra though, I knew what to do. Plus I had friends that knew who was going to start a troop. So Alexandra got to join in Kindergarten. Luckily Riley has Achievement Days/Activity Girls at church. Which is almost like Girl Scouts, but more spiritual, and less cookies.

This was Alexandra's last year as a Daisy. She will be a Brownie next year. So as part of "graduating" they have a Bridging Ceremony. Her troop had theirs at a gymnastic center near us. It was awesome and the girls had a great time. They got to play first. They did some stretching.

And some floor exercises.

Scarlett loved this wedge. She would just slide down it on her belly.

Then they got to jump down a trampoline and jump into a huge foam pit. Even Scarlett got in on the fun.
I missed her first jump because I was helping set up some of the stuff. Apparently the staff member helping the girls helped Scarlett "hop" off. She picked her up and dropped her into the pit. She loved it! She did it several more times. I didn't get many pictures because I kept putting my camera away so I could help out girls. There was also a rope swing, climbing net, trapeze, and slide that went into the pit. They had a blast!

I received an Outstanding Volunteer Award for being an amazing cookie mom. (I'm also going to be the co-leader next year.) Instead of a bouquet of flowers they got me Mountain Dew. Which Denine figured I'd like better!

Alexandra's flower was the pink carnation. It means "caring thoughts for others".

This was Alexandra crossing the bridge. Scarlett crossed the bridge with almost every girl too. I couldn't keep her off because I was handing out their badges and pins for next year.

Then the girls had cake and watermelon to celebrate. It was awesome and the girls had a great time. I'm pretty sure I know where the girls are going to have birthday parties next year!

Scarlett has arrived!!!!! She was born on Monday, June 1st at 5:06pm. Making her exactly 6 weeks early. She was 6lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. She is doing SOOOOO good!!! She continues to surprise everyone in the NICU. We're not sure how long she's going to be in there, but they are not ready to release me yet either so, we're both making the hospital our new home for a bit. Everyone seems really impressed with all that she's able to do. She is not on any machines and is doing great with her breathing and keeping her own temperature. A Year of Horrible

I have debated writing/telling people about this because it's not completely my story, but then again, it is, because I'm living through it as the mom.  So as a friend and/or family member reading this, please remember that I'm entrusting you with sensitive thoughts.  And yes I know this is also on the internet, so anyone could read it as well.  But I also know that I needed a place to write all of this down and get it recorded.  It will help me as I sort though all we are going through and it could possibly help others. My Irrational Fears

Now maybe this is normal, but since I'm not really sure what a "normal" pregnancy should be I have no idea. But lately I have worries about everything. Mostly it has to do with the baby being born healthy. When I told Dean about them the other night, he was like "Wow, I had no idea you had that much that you were worried about". So here's my list. #1 - Driving in the car. It scares me to death now. I really have no reason for it to scare me since I have never had a car accident. But every time I'm behind the wheel all I can think about is what if someone hits me. I'm wearing a seat belt and that could hurt the baby. If the airbag goes off, that could hurt the baby. Let alone if it's a really bad accident.... #2 - I can't open any of the stuff we've bought for the baby. And this is so unlike me, I love to open stuff and put it together. But this time all I can think of is I can't open it, what if something happens to the baby. We can...
