Two!!!

Today is Scarlett's birthday! I can't believe 2 years have passed. It goes by so quickly. My dad was in town this weekend so we celebrated her birthday on Monday so he could watch her open her presents. We did her outdoor presents first since the weather was looking kinda iffy. She got a sand box, which she loves. Every day she asks to go play in the "box!"

She tried climbing in, but then her feet touched the sand and she wasn't so sure about that, so now she sits outside of it.

Even Riley and Alexandra love her present!

She also got a bubble blower. Because I'm lazy. And I hate bubble solution all over my fingers.



She loves ABC's. So she got a few alphabet toys. I LOVE the fridge phonics one. I love watching her dance to the song.



She wasn't too sure about the candles, but she has been singing "Happy Birthday to Scarlett" ever since Monday. It's so cute!

I'm not sure that I'm ready for the "Terrible Twos". She already throws some awesome temper tantrums. But I'm so glad that she's big enough this summer to really have some fun. Especially now that she'll have her sisters all day every day.

Our Newest Addition!

Scarlett has arrived!!!!! She was born on Monday, June 1st at 5:06pm. Making her exactly 6 weeks early. She was 6lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. She is doing SOOOOO good!!! She continues to surprise everyone in the NICU. We're not sure how long she's going to be in there, but they are not ready to release me yet either so, we're both making the hospital our new home for a bit. Everyone seems really impressed with all that she's able to do. She is not on any machines and is doing great with her breathing and keeping her own temperature. She is VERY red though.....so living up to her name! Her red blood cell count was in the 60's when she was born, so we've been anticipating her needing to go under the billirubin lights, which they just started. Her number was still low (7.2), but we found out she is A+, and since I'm O+ there is an incompatibility, so they started her on the lights before she started to get worse. And now for the story.... A Year of Horrible

I have debated writing/telling people about this because it's not completely my story, but then again, it is, because I'm living through it as the mom.  So as a friend and/or family member reading this, please remember that I'm entrusting you with sensitive thoughts.  And yes I know this is also on the internet, so anyone could read it as well.  But I also know that I needed a place to write all of this down and get it recorded.  It will help me as I sort though all we are going through and it could possibly help others. My Irrational Fears

Now maybe this is normal, but since I'm not really sure what a "normal" pregnancy should be I have no idea. But lately I have worries about everything. Mostly it has to do with the baby being born healthy. When I told Dean about them the other night, he was like "Wow, I had no idea you had that much that you were worried about". So here's my list. #1 - Driving in the car. It scares me to death now. I really have no reason for it to scare me since I have never had a car accident. But every time I'm behind the wheel all I can think about is what if someone hits me. I'm wearing a seat belt and that could hurt the baby. If the airbag goes off, that could hurt the baby. Let alone if it's a really bad accident.... #2 - I can't open any of the stuff we've bought for the baby. And this is so unlike me, I love to open stuff and put it together.
