Pickle or Mimi

So on Thanksgiving, Aric decided he was going to call Scarlett "Pickle". His reasoning is that she looks pickle shaped when she is laying on the floor....

Her nickname so far has been Mimi. It started out as My Baby and somehow with "baby talk" has turned into Mimi. She responds to it or Scarlett, so I guess she's safe unless she starts responding to Pickle.

He also gave her a super hero name...I think is was vominator (not positive - it had something to do with vomiting). She was quite the spitter upper that day! She did really like Aric though. She kept staring at him all day. She's become quite the mimic too. She blows raspberries all the time especially if you do it first. When you shake her baby doll at her, she shakes her head the same way - Dean said she's gonna give herself shaken baby syndrome. And then on Thursday Aric was laying down and he'd raise one leg up and then lower it. She would watch him for a while and then she'd start trying to move her legs like him too. I don't remember the other girls being like that at all.

We did get the Christmas tree up yesterday! And most of the other decorations (not that we have a lot). I'm gonna wait to post pictures until Dean and the girls get done making their fireplace. We don't have one and Dean told the girls that they would all make a pretend one out of construction paper and hang it on the wall under the stockings. I'm excited to see how it all turns out in the end!

    I can't remember whether Vominator was supposed to be an evil, arch villain or a super hero! LOL! It was funny watching her watch and mimic Aric.

Scarlett has arrived!!!!! She was born on Monday, June 1st at 5:06pm. Making her exactly 6 weeks early. She was 6lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. She is doing SOOOOO good!!! She continues to surprise everyone in the NICU. We're not sure how long she's going to be in there, but they are not ready to release me yet either so, we're both making the hospital our new home for a bit. Everyone seems really impressed with all that she's able to do. She is not on any machines and is doing great with her breathing and keeping her own temperature. A Year of Horrible

I have debated writing/telling people about this because it's not completely my story, but then again, it is, because I'm living through it as the mom.  So as a friend and/or family member reading this, please remember that I'm entrusting you with sensitive thoughts.  And yes I know this is also on the internet, so anyone could read it as well.  But I also know that I needed a place to write all of this down and get it recorded.  It will help me as I sort though all we are going through and it could possibly help others. My Irrational Fears

Now maybe this is normal, but since I'm not really sure what a "normal" pregnancy should be I have no idea. But lately I have worries about everything. Mostly it has to do with the baby being born healthy. When I told Dean about them the other night, he was like "Wow, I had no idea you had that much that you were worried about". So here's my list. #1 - Driving in the car. It scares me to death now. I really have no reason for it to scare me since I have never had a car accident. But every time I'm behind the wheel all I can think about is what if someone hits me. I'm wearing a seat belt and that could hurt the baby. If the airbag goes off, that could hurt the baby. Let alone if it's a really bad accident.... #2 - I can't open any of the stuff we've bought for the baby. And this is so unlike me, I love to open stuff and put it together.
