Learned my Lesson

So Friday night we had Riley's birthday party. She wanted a slumber party, and silly me, I thought that won't be too hard. Little did I know..... She invited 7 girls and silly me, I thought I would have at least a couple of no RSVP's. Nope, everyone came. It was chaos, and craziness, and pretty darn loud. They had pizza, a couple of crafts, cake and ice cream, and then they got to watch Madagascar 2. They had a great time, but I think next time we will definitely limit the number to like 2. Even Riley said "next time lets not invite so many people." Looking back, they really were good for being mostly 7-8 year olds that were super excited. And once I got them all settled down they went right to sleep. It's just not an activity to do while you're pregnant and not feeling 100%. Yesterday my mom came over and we went to the fabric store. I needed some stuff for Girl Scouts and she wanted material to make a dress for Riley's baptism day. I had f...

And the Baby is.....

A GIRL!!!!! We had the 20 week ultrasound this morning and it went great!! She is very healthy and active!! She is still measuring bigger than the original due date of July 13th, as of today her measurements put her at July 6th. I'm still thinking 4th of July!!! She looked good and even posed right away so we could see that she was a she. The tech looked at the placenta and couldn't see any extra fluid or places where it was separated, so as of today we're looking good! She did say though that it doesn't mean it won't happen (which we know from previous pregnancies - mainly Riley's cuz there was nothing wrong with her ultrasound and then 3 weeks later....) but it sure was nice to breathe a sigh of relief for today. We're still gonna keep up with the restricted activity because maybe that is what is helping with this pregnancy (besides all the prayers!!) Also the placenta has moved away from the cervix, so no more worries about previa! And here's the fun ...

E-I-E-I-Ooops!

Image
Last night Riley had a play at school. It was part of her music class, they've been working on it for 3-4 weeks. It was called E-I-E-I-Ooops. It was about a cow who forgot how to moo. Riley was a sheep and if it wasn't fun to try to find her white pants. It was all of the 2nd graders, which made for a huge group, probably about 65-70 kids. Riley was one of the lucky ones who got a line, although afterwards she told us she wished she would have had more lines. Maybe she'll break out of her stage fright after all. It was very cute and she did a great job! I took some videos of some of the songs, and I'd just like to apologize now for the shakiness of the videos, plus the quality, I was running out of memory on my card so I had to set the quality lower to make sure I had enough room. But as too the shakiness, I'm gonna blame it on....ummm...the pregnancy, yeah that's it!! It's just a handy excuse!

A Mother's Intuition

Wednesday night Alexandra was being herself and climbing and jumping off of furniture. Well she decided to climb on the computer chair and jump off. The chair spun once she started to jump causing her to just fall. I didn't see it happen, I just heard the thump as she landed. She cried for probably about 30 mins, which is so unlike Alexandra, but we couldn't see anything wrong and she was able to move her hand all about. We gave her some Tylenol and started to read stories since it was bedtime and she fell asleep during Riley's story. So we decided we would wait till the morning and see how she was doing. Well she woke up crying about 2 in the morning saying that it hurt, so we gave her some more Tylenol and then she slept with me. (I know bad mom, but I was totally thinking $100 copay or wait a few hours and $20 copay - If we could definitely see that it was broken I would have taken her in, but I didn't want to pay $100 to be told there was nothing wrong with he...

Girl Scout Field Trip

Image
So it has been an extremely busy week, so I'm gonna try to post several items this morning to get caught up. Last Saturday we had a field trip with the Girl Scouts. We took them swimming at a rec center near us. They had a great time. I didn't get too many pictures because I wasn't feeling too well, so I just sat and watched from a distance for most of the time. The rec center we went too was very cool. It had two slides, well 3 actually, a butterfly one in the little kid section, and then one regular slide and one tube slide. Which they even had 2-person tubes for. Then it had a "lazy" river...which was more like Ragin' Rapids then lazy, especially for the girls. It was hilarious to watch them get swept away by the water. Even more hilarious was watching as they were trying to get out and couldn't get over to the exit before they got swept away again. They would try to use the tubes in the river, but it was moving so fast they couldn't get into t...

Kite flying and Twilight

Image
On Tuesday the wind was CRAZY!! Which seems to be happening quite a bit lately. I'm starting to wonder if I'm in Wyoming once again. Dean decided that he would take the girls out kite flying. Every time the wind blows the girls ask if they can fly kites, and horrible mom that I am, it always seems that we have other stuff that has to be done those days. (Or I really just don't want to that day.) So of course that made Daddy the best daddy ever! The girls had a blast, although Riley's kite (which was the better made of the two) broke fairly quickly into the adventure. I love this picture of Dean and Alexandra. Riley took it!!! And while they were off kite flying, my friend Mandie and I went and saw Twilight. It was playing at the $2.50 theater and since I hadn't gotten to see it when it came out, we went. I must say I laughed so hard. Now all of my friends had gone to see it when it first came out, but I was horribly sick with morning sickness so I didn't go. I h...

Feeling.....

On Sunday while I was at church I just had this feeling come over me. The bad part is I can't describe the feeling. It was like nothing I've ever felt before, but it was awesome. With this feeling came the knowledge that everyone's prayers are helping me. It was like I could actually feel everyone's prayers, the people who love me, the people in my ward who are praying for me, the temple prayer roll prayers, all of them. It was very overwhelming, but amazing all at the same time. So I just wanted to thank all of you who are keeping me and the baby in your prayers. I truly know that they are helping me and making a difference in this pregnancy!!!! One example of that is with my other pregnancies, once I started bleeding - it NEVER stopped. No matter how much I stayed down on bed rest it was always there. But with this one I haven't had any bleeding the past week - none at all. It's truly a miracle!! I'm not expecting it to stay (although it would ...
