Fall Break

I love school breaks!! Right now it's their fall break and we have a 5 day weekend. Riley had yesterday off and today and Monday as well! They love it even more than me because they know they can con Grammy into letting them come and have sleepovers. I just love it because I don't have to wake up to an alarm (not that I'm able to sleep in anymore).

Grammy picked up Riley after school on Wednesday so that she could have a sleepover by herself. She's been trying to let the girls have individual sleepovers lately so they don't have to "share" Grammy. So I took Alexandra with Meredith and her kids to the museum because it was free day!!! I love free days, although I had hoped since it was a school day that the museum wouldn't be that packed - and I was horribly wrong. The best part of the day was going through the new dinosaur exhibit. Meredith's boys were so fun to watch, especially Jordan. He's so little (not quite 2) but he would get so excited when he saw the bones and we would have so much trouble getting him to move on. Alexandra was her usually picture diva. Every time Meredith tried to take a picture of her kids, Alexandra would come running and some how become the center of the picture.

All of the kids!
Alexandra "posing" for pictures.
"Posing" again. I couldn't get her to just sit up. In fact she got mad at me when I asked her too. Apparently she's starting her modeling career early.

Yesterday Alexandra had Joy School. When she got home she was so excited about her day. They had made little loaves of bread that they were told they could eat for lunch. When she found out Grammy was coming to get her she decided that she was going to save her bread for Grammy but that I could have a teeny tiny piece to try. When Riley and Grammy got to the house, I asked Alexandra if she wanted to go spend the night at Grammy's (I didn't let her know about it earlier because I didn't want to listen to her whine about "Is it time yet? When do I get to go?") She of course got extremely excited and then turned to Riley and informed her that she didn't get to come because she'd already had her turn. Unfortunately Riley had already been told she could have another night too, so then we had to "bargain" with Alexandra to get her to let Riley come too. Mostly it was just saying that Riley would sleep on the air mattress and Alexandra would get to sleep with Grammy and that Alexandra would get to have another night next week without Riley. I have to say that while I love having some time to myself without the girls, it is very lonely being in the house all by myself. I feel kinda lost.

Tuesday I was able to go to the temple for Stake Temple Day. I love going to the temple! I just love the feeling of peace that is there. I'm having trouble even describing how wonderful I feel when I go. It's a time that I can put all my worldly troubles aside and just feel the love Heavenly Father has for me. Plus anytime I have a problem, some how I always seem to find the answer while I'm there at the temple.
