Trunk or Treat/Boo at the Zoo
Yesterday night was our Ward's Trunk-or-Treat party. For those of you who don't know what that is, the members of our ward get together in our church parking lot and the kids go from car to car trick or treating. Usually you sit in the back of your car and hand out the candy (although I've never had a "car" there, so it might suck to sit in a trunk, but the back of Grammy's van worked great. It makes it a safe environment for the kids to trick-or-treat. You know everyone and it's all in one spot. We also had a potluck dinner and activities before the trick-or-treating started.

One of the activities was eating a donut off a string with no hands. Of course you can see that Alexandra cheated. They also had face painting and fishing for prizes and musical chairs.
One of the lady's in our ward handed out caramel and candy apples for her treats. They were so yummy!!! Again, since you know everyone you can get cool treats like that!
Then today we went to Boo at the Zoo. It was actually a really good day too. At first before we left this morning the girls were whining and crying and I thought today was gonna suck. But once we got to the zoo everything turned out wonderful. We have been doing this every year since Riley was a baby. I have a zoo membership so it's free for me. Today we got there right when the zoo opened. We actually got a close parking spot (which is hard to do even on regular zoo days). And for almost the whole time we were there the zoo wasn't crowded at all. They have about 25 booths to trick-or-treat at, and usually you wait in lines at them all. But today there was only one booth we had to wait in line at and that was because you had to spin a wheel to see what prize you won. And usually you get "cheap" candy like Tootsie Rolls (not that there's anything wrong with Tootsie Rolls - there's just better candy out there), but this year most of the booths had better candy (M&M's, Resse's, etc.) or popcorn bags or chip bags. There is also always one dental booth so you can get new toothbrushes (great idea since they are getting tons of sweets). The weather today was great too. Although that meant that I got to carry Alexandra's coat all through the zoo. Riley had refused to wear hers - heaven forbid something were to cover up her costume.
One of the booths had stormtroopers you could pose with. My girls weren't too keen on the idea, but hey you don't pass up the opportunity to have your picture taken with Star Wars characters!!

They had a pumpkin in their cage and they were playing with it. It was so funny to watch. We probably spent 15 minutes just watching them.
Sorry the video's a little shaky. It was almost lunch time and my blood sugar was low - so hence shaky hands.
