The Day Has Come to Say Goodbye!!!

So Sunday after it took us 30 mins to brush her hair, Riley finally decided that we could cut it. I must admit I have been wanting to cut it short for quite a while now. It's just so hard for an 8 year old to take care of when it's that long, which means it's always mom taking care of it. Once she gave us permission (I've always let her do what she wants with her hair - at least since she's been big enough to decide) I wasn't gonna let her back out!! So we went after school on Monday to get it cut.

We were able to donate her hair to Locks of Love, which also made her haircut free!! With it all one length you're really able to see just how thick her hair is. I love it and think it looks so cute on her. She really likes it too, especially when we brushed it yesterday morning. It took maybe 90 seconds to brush. She turned to me and said "I love short hair. I never want it to be long ever again!"

    I LOVE the new haircut!!! Hair is for playing with, growing out, cutting short. :) And the fact that you could donate it is AWESOME!

    She is such a cute kid, I can see both you and Dean in her. Your kids are just CUTE!!

Our Newest Addition!

Scarlett has arrived!!!!! She was born on Monday, June 1st at 5:06pm. Making her exactly 6 weeks early. She was 6lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. She is doing SOOOOO good!!! She continues to surprise everyone in the NICU. We're not sure how long she's going to be in there, but they are not ready to release me yet either so, we're both making the hospital our new home for a bit. Everyone seems really impressed with all that she's able to do. She is not on any machines and is doing great with her breathing and keeping her own temperature. A Year of Horrible

I have debated writing/telling people about this because it's not completely my story, but then again, it is, because I'm living through it as the mom.  So as a friend and/or family member reading this, please remember that I'm entrusting you with sensitive thoughts.  And yes I know this is also on the internet, so anyone could read it as well.  But I also know that I needed a place to write all of this down and get it recorded.  It will help me as I sort though all we are going through and it could possibly help others. My Irrational Fears

Now maybe this is normal, but since I'm not really sure what a "normal" pregnancy should be I have no idea. But lately I have worries about everything. Mostly it has to do with the baby being born healthy. When I told Dean about them the other night, he was like "Wow, I had no idea you had that much that you were worried about". So here's my list. #1 - Driving in the car. It scares me to death now. I really have no reason for it to scare me since I have never had a car accident. But every time I'm behind the wheel all I can think about is what if someone hits me. I'm wearing a seat belt and that could hurt the baby. If the airbag goes off, that could hurt the baby. Let alone if it's a really bad accident.... #2 - I can't open any of the stuff we've bought for the baby. And this is so unlike me, I love to open stuff and put it together.
