Decorating the Christmas Tree

On Monday night for Family Home Evening we got out the Christmas decorations. Usually we try to do this the day after Thanksgiving, but as Dean had to work that day, we had to change our plans. Usually I'm kinda picky about the tree, but as I was not feeling the best, I just let the girls have at it. Unfortunately after they were done my sense of "the tree should not have all the pink ornaments in one spot" kicked in and I made Dean fix some of it. The girls didn't mind, it just meant they got to move ornaments again. Alexandra's one demand was that she got to put the angel on the top of the tree.

Our poor little Christmas tree has been through 8 Christmas'. We got it the year we got married and were in a little apartment, and since then we haven't had the money at Christmas to get a new one. But it was kinda nice this year, because the girls could reach the whole tree to hang ornaments on.

After we got done, Alexandra started asking where her presents were. When I asked her why she was asking about presents, she told me that since we put up the tree it was now Christmas and she should get to open her presents. When I told her she was going to have to wait 25 more days, she was very upset with me. She wanted to know why we put up the tree if it wasn't Christmas yet.
And of course Alexandra notices that the stockings are sock shaped...so you know what happened with them....

Scarlett has arrived!!!!! She was born on Monday, June 1st at 5:06pm. Making her exactly 6 weeks early. She was 6lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. She is doing SOOOOO good!!! She continues to surprise everyone in the NICU. We're not sure how long she's going to be in there, but they are not ready to release me yet either so, we're both making the hospital our new home for a bit. A Year of Horrible

I have debated writing/telling people about this because it's not completely my story, but then again, it is, because I'm living through it as the mom.  So as a friend and/or family member reading this, please remember that I'm entrusting you with sensitive thoughts.  And yes I know this is also on the internet, so anyone could read it as well.  But I also know that I needed a place to write all of this down and get it recorded.  It will help me as I sort though all we are going through and it could possibly help others. My Irrational Fears

Now maybe this is normal, but since I'm not really sure what a "normal" pregnancy should be I have no idea. But lately I have worries about everything. Mostly it has to do with the baby being born healthy. When I told Dean about them the other night, he was like "Wow, I had no idea you had that much that you were worried about". So here's my list. #1 - Driving in the car. It scares me to death now. I really have no reason for it to scare me since I have never had a car accident. But every time I'm behind the wheel all I can think about is what if someone hits me. I'm wearing a seat belt and that could hurt the baby. If the airbag goes off, that could hurt the baby. Let alone if it's a really bad accident.... #2 - I can't open any of the stuff we've bought for the baby. And this is so unlike me, I love to open stuff and put it together. But this time all I can think of is I can't open it, what if something happens to the baby. We can...
