1st "Non-official" Day of School

So Thursday was Alexandra's 1st day of school (but not officially).


Yes the Pokemon obsession continues!
And Friday was Riley's 1st day of school (not officially).


This year when the district planned the schedule they put the flex (testing) days at the beginning of the year. They were supposed to use these days to schedule individual testing for the kids....well I don't know what happened, but no testing and it ended up being a half day for both girls. Their official 1st day of school is Monday (and they should have new dresses from Grammy to wear too!)
Alexandra cried while we were waiting in line. She didn't want to go and be "by herself". Which almost made me cry. With all the time we have been at the school (PTA, school parties, and various other things) I really didn't feel that she was going to have any issues. But apparently it's not the same being at the school without Mommy. When we picked her up she said that Kindergarten was GREAT! and she had a fun time.
Riley really likes her new teacher. They spent all Friday getting to know all the 3rd and 4th grade teachers and then they played games. Yep, games, all day! She had a good day though and is looking forward to this year. She has several of her really good friends in her class and one of the ones I didn't want in her class isn't!!!!!! And she's actually excited that this girl is not in her class anymore either!

Our Newest Addition!

Scarlett has arrived!!!!! She was born on Monday, June 1st at 5:06pm. Making her exactly 6 weeks early. She was 6lbs 6oz and 19 inches long. She is doing SOOOOO good!!! She continues to surprise everyone in the NICU. We're not sure how long she's going to be in there, but they are not ready to release me yet either so, we're both making the hospital our new home for a bit. Everyone seems really impressed with all that she's able to do. She is not on any machines and is doing great with her breathing and keeping her own temperature. A Year of Horrible

I have debated writing/telling people about this because it's not completely my story, but then again, it is, because I'm living through it as the mom.  So as a friend and/or family member reading this, please remember that I'm entrusting you with sensitive thoughts.  And yes I know this is also on the internet, so anyone could read it as well.  But I also know that I needed a place to write all of this down and get it recorded.  It will help me as I sort though all we are going through and it could possibly help others. My Irrational Fears

Now maybe this is normal, but since I'm not really sure what a "normal" pregnancy should be I have no idea. But lately I have worries about everything. Mostly it has to do with the baby being born healthy. When I told Dean about them the other night, he was like "Wow, I had no idea you had that much that you were worried about". So here's my list. #1 - Driving in the car. It scares me to death now. I really have no reason for it to scare me since I have never had a car accident. But every time I'm behind the wheel all I can think about is what if someone hits me. I'm wearing a seat belt and that could hurt the baby. If the airbag goes off, that could hurt the baby. Let alone if it's a really bad accident.... #2 - I can't open any of the stuff we've bought for the baby. And this is so unlike me, I love to open stuff and put it together.
